Through the Assistive Devices Program (ADP), you can get help paying for mobility devices, such as wheelchairs and rollators. To determine if you qualify for government funding, you need to be assessed by an ADP authorizer. The authorizer is a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, who will complete a thorough assessment and complete the required application.
If you are approved for funding, ADP may pay up to 75% of the price of the device.
An in-home mobility assessment is desirable in order to address any challenges that arise with use of a mobility device in your specific home setting. This evaluation considers the indoor features of your home, such as doorway widths, flooring, and placement or seat heights of furniture. In addition, the authorizer will assess the ability to access the bedroom, bathroom and the outdoor surroundings of your home.
All Physiotherapists at At Home P.T. Inc. are qualified to be authorizers with ADP. We look forward to helping you obtain the mobility device that is right for you. For more information, please contact us at 519‑373‑4016.
